Lauren Flanagan is a writer, prop stylist and project manager who has worked in the interior design industry for over 15 years. She believes that the key to good design is being smart enough to follow some rules while being fearless enough to break others. Her goal is to help people find their own style and create spaces that bring joy to their everyday lives.
Lauren began her career in the field of high-end home decor retail where she was mentored by two of Canada’s top experts in the fields of antiques and interior styling. Since leaving retail in 2008 she has found homes in the fast-paced worlds of magazine and television production. She is thrilled to have written and produced stories for some of Canada’s top interior design magazines including Style at Home – where she worked as a design editor – and Canadian House and Home. She has also written for several other print and online publications including Canadian Gardening, Canadian Home & Country, Connected Rogers Magazine and About.com. Her television styling credits include several episodes of CityLine, Canada’s longest running lifestyle show. From 2011 to 2015 she worked as a project manager and production associate for the HGTV shows Summer Home and Income Property.
Currently Lauren works as the social and digital marketing manager for popular HGTV host Scott McGillivray.
